Places of risk of contracting Yellow Fever
The vaccine is a fundamental requirement in the visit to the Natural Parks in Colombia. Places such as Caño Cristales, San Cipriano and Tayrona Park, require carrying the current vaccination card
The departments where there is more risk of contracting Yellow Fever are: Amazonas, Caquetá, Casanare, Guanía, Guaviare, Meta, Putumayo, Vaupés, Vichada, César, Magdalena, Norte de Santander and Santander, where more than 80% of the municipalities are located at risk. Also travelers who wish to visit the coastal areas and jungle interior of the departments of Chocó and Antioquia.
In addition to all this, in the jungle areas of the country there is also the risk of contracting Dengue, Malaria, Tetanus and Hepatitis. Therefore, foreigners are also recommended to have these vaccines up to date.
Travelers entering Colombia must have a yellow fever vaccine
In addition to this, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, clarified that the Yellow Fever vaccine is essential for entering Colombia from countries such as Brazil, Angola, Republic of the Congo and Uganda and even for passengers who are in airport transit for more 12 hours
Tour operators should also warn travelers about the drinkability of the water consumed in the different sites, it is recommended that foreign visitors only consume bottled water.
